  • 1 pound unsalted butter
  • 1 ounce of cannabis
  • 2 cups of water possibly a little more

You will need these utensils in your kitchen as well.

  • Cheesecloth
  • Strainer
  • A large glass bowl
  • A sauce pan
  • Spatula

You will need to all of these items and you canna start making your very own cannabutter.

The first step is to heat your  butter and water until it just starts to boil, being sure not to bring it to a rolling boil.
Add one ounce of marijuana and stir with the whisk, while cooking, use a medium to low heat (more to the low side) for about 5 hours. Be sure to check your cannabutter and stir your sauce pan every 90 minutes or so. You may need to add additional water (only a small amount at a time) but be sure it is warm.
After 5 hours pull out a glass bowl put a strainer on it and cover it with the cheesecloth. Pour your mixture slowly through the cloth into the glass bowl. Sometimes you will have to work your cannabutter through your cheese cloth using a spoon or spatula. Fold your cloth and squeeze out the remaining mixture into your bowl. Wrap your bowl with plastic and set in the refrigerator for a few hours. Use a knife to cut around the edges of the bowl so that you can remove your cannabutter. Discard any leftover water. Store in a jar in the refrigerator.
