Marijuana is not the Bad Guy

Marijuana is growing in today’s culture both medicinally and recreationally. It is going to come up in your kid’s life at one time or another. What do you say to them? How do you explain to them that they should not smoke? Is this a question that you ask? It is quite all right to be a concerned parent. Just do not blow this out or proportion and you will be fine. In all honestly 2.6 million US teenagers, ages 12 to 17, are evaluated as binge drinkers. Add this in that 39% of all car accidents recorded in the US, causes were alcohol and you can see a bigger problem that has been there all along.
When it comes to marijuana this seems to be what I am finding in all. “Almost 1,400 children under 12 were evaluated for accidental poisonings in one hospital — 790 before Sept. 30, 2009, and 588 after that”. “Children recover quickly in most cases, Wang said. “They don’t need more than a day or two of hospitalization,” he said. “There were no deaths or lasting side effects.” This is a direct quote from U.S News.

Bigger Fish to Fry

You don’t have to worry about marijuana as much as you do alcohol. The rate of poisoning contributed to alcohol in children is enormous in comparison and has been an epidemic for some time. Marijuana is breaking the horrible stereotype from the 5os Refer Madness Movie. The minor reports of marijuana poisoning seem to come from over concerned parents whose children got into their grandparents medical stash.
These cases are minor compared to alcohol or prescription drugs. These are true epidemics. It will be nice to see our jails free up from working people who smoked a joint and start making room for real criminals. Police can focus on eliminating hard drugs and other violence. We all know pot heads are not known for their gangster ways. Marijuana is great and not everyone should smoke. Those of you who should, you know who you are and your time to shine is getting closer.
